OPSC Judicial Recruitment 2017:
Orissa i.e. Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) invites candidates for online applications for the examination of civil court judges. Interested candidates can apply online from 06.05.2017 till the last date of online form filling that is 05.06.2017. In total there are 110 posts of civil judges. OPSC Civil Judge Job details:

Eligibility for Civil Judge:
Age Limit: The candidate applying should be at least of 23 years before applying. The upper age limit is set to be 35. Age relaxation will be given as per the government orders. Maximum age limit for departmental candidates will not be more than 39 years of age.
Educational Qualification: The candidate should have studied law from a recognized university and hold the graduation certificate. The candidate should have been a superintendent or a minstrel officer in the high court or an assistant law officer or criminal court subordinate to the high court or translator of the law department of government is eligible for these jobs.
Other important eligibilities:
The candidate should be a citizen of India. He should be of a good character and should be mentally and physically sound. The candidate should be fluent in speaking and writing Odia and should have passed an Odia based examination equivalent to that of 8th standard. Government servant whether permanent or temporary is eligible to apply for these vacancies.

To apply for these vacancies the candidates need to log in to the official site of OPSC http://opsc.gov.in. Now go to the recruitment section and select the desired post you want to apply for. Enter your details properly and submit them. Pay your application fee according to the category you fall into. Take a print out at the end for further use. the application fee is Rs 300/- for all the general candidates. Candidates belonging o SC/ST category and people with disability not less than 40% are not bound to pay the application fee.
Selection process: the candidates will be selected on the basis of passing 3 steps those are:
- Preliminary examination
- Main examination
OPSC Civil Judge Preliminary Examination:
The preliminary examination will be of 100 marks containing 100 questions containing each one mark. It will be an objective type paper. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks each for every wrong answer. This examination will contain questions related to constitution of India, code of civil procedure, code of criminal procedure, evident act, Indian penal code, limitation act, contract act, transfer of property act, the law of succession and specific relief act. The candidates will have to score at least 35 marks for SC/ST tribe and 40 for general candidates in the pre exam to be eligible for the mains examination.
OPSC Civil Judge Mains Examination:
The main examination will be in the following 2 compulsory papers and 3 optional papers. Each compulsory subject will contain 150 marks each and 2.5 hours and each of the optional subjects will carry 150 marks with duration of 3 hours.
- General English: 150 marks
- Procedural laws: 150 marks
- Law of crime and law of torts: 150 marks
- Personal law: 150 marks
- Law of Property: 150 marks
- Law of contract: 150 marks
- Jurisprudence and constitution of India: 150 marks
The commission will be calling candidates with a minimum aggregate of 45 % marks for the interview.
Interview: Candidates passing the mains will be going for the interview. The interview will be of 100 marks and you will be basically asked a question under the syllabus of mains and some common things also. Candidates passing the interview will be getting a job. The candidate should basically score a minimum of 40 marks in the interview to clear it.
